What is Gestalt Therapy?

A cycle of continuous, transformation and becoming an authentic being. 

The Gestalt approach supports an open and creative exploration of some of the ‘stuck places’ you may be facing in a very present-centred way. This can help shed light on potential long-standing patterns. What distinguishes Gestalt psychotherapy from other approaches is in the way that we will work together. With a focus on the present moment, we can explore more fully what arises within you in response to your own life. This can include your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Your personal history, unique experiences, life and environmental context as well as your generational history matters. The approach we take and our goals in therapy will be individually tailored to suit you. Gaining a deeper awareness of self may allow you more freedom and movement towards new possibilities. Let's find out together what some of these can be!

About Me

Self discovery is a lifelong process and transformation is powerful and ongoing.

It is possible to restore natural and sacred movements of our body, mind and soul through expression.

 

Patience, awareness, and a deep loving acceptance of our own unique, beautiful and creative expressions of self is my wish for humanity at this incredible time.

I am a forever student, hungry and curious to learn and grow alongside the people I work with. 

 

What I offer is an open, curious, and non-judgmental presence; creating space for the full spectrum of emotions, thoughts, and experiences. I include in this, my own experience as a queer, mixed-race, woman of colour navigating the structures of this world.

​

I bring an appreciation and respect for unconventional ways of being that challenge unexamined norms, and a focused, heart-centred lens for the unspoken and subtle aspects of life and its' silent sufferings and celebrations.

I offer support to those who wish to examine more fully and closely how they show up in relationship, including the relationship with self, and why this really matters.

Individual and Partner Therapy

Some of the challenges people seek to explore in therapy are the result of a discomfort arising in their relationships with others. Our connections with others can be our greatest teacher.

My approach to therapy is gentle but direct. I practice relationally and in a person-centred way, honouring where you have come from and how this shapes how you move through the world. We can explore these things together within the therapeutic relationship, which is built over the course of some time. This kind of exploration is a process that takes courage, patience and commitment.
